Uganda Premier Robinah Nabbanja Opens Key Africa Sustainability Forum, Highlights Year of Progress

The Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja has officially opened the 12th Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Serving as Chairperson of the Bureau of the 11th Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, the Premier highlighted key milestones achieved over the past year and applauded all stakeholders for their commitment and collaboration during a successful tenure. "We come to the end of our tenure with a deep sense of fulfilment," she remarked. The forum, held under the theme "Turning the Tide: Transformative and Coordinated Actions for the 2030 Agenda and the African Unions Agenda 2063," is focused on assessing progress on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The high-level gathering has attracted African ministers, senior government officials, policy experts, civil society representatives, youth leaders, academics, and private sector actors. Among the Ugandan delegations are the Minister of State for Environment, Beatrice Atim Anywar, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (International Affairs), Henry Okello Oryem.
