Stanbic Bank donates medical equipment worth UGX 16 Million to Palabek Kal health centre IV

Stanbic Bank Uganda yesterday, July 15, officially handed over a consignment of essential medical equipment to Palabek Kal Health Centre IV in Lamwo District. The much-anticipated donation includes 10 hospital mattresses, 100 boxes containing mama kits, a blood pressure (BP) machine, weighing scales for both newborns and adults, a glucometer, a pulse oximeter, and other vital medical supplies. The total value of the donated items is estimated at UGX 16 million. According to Isaac Okuma, Regional Manager at Stanbic Bank, the initiative is part of the bank's ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts aimed at enhancing health service delivery in underserved communities across Uganda. Palabek Kal Health Centre IV, which serves thousands of residents in Lamwo and surrounding areas, has long struggled with shortages of medical equipment and supplies. The donated items are expected to alleviate some of these challenges, especially in the maternity and inpatient wards. Pamela Alwoch, Manager of Stanbic Banks Kitgum Branch, noted that the donation is expected to ease the burden on healthcare workers and improve service delivery, particularly for expectant mothers and young children. The Minister of Relief, Disaster Preparedness, and Refugees, Hon. Hilary Onek, commended Stanbic Bank for the timely gesture. This support from Stanbic Bank is a big boost to our health system. It will go a long way in improving maternal health and patient comfort," he said. Stanbic Bank Uganda has consistently demonstrated its commitment to social impact through various initiatives in education, health, and financial literacy. This recent donation further reinforces the bank's dedication to supporting communities and creating lasting positive change across the country.
