Government sets up emergency evacuation centre in Tehran

By Sulaina Nakidde  As events continue to unfold between Israel and Iran, Uganda’s embassy in Tehran has set up an emergency evacuation coordination centre. This, according to Amb Twaha Matata, the Charge D’ Affaires, will continue to operate until further notice. In a press statement issued last on Friday evening, the Ag Head of Public Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms Margaret Kafeero, says that the government now appeals to anyone with information on Ugandans still trapped in the Islamic Republic of Iran to reach out to the Embassy officials for help.
