UHRC calls for swift handling of Besigye’s case
The Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) on Monday urged relevant government authorities to swiftly handle detained Dr. Kizza Besigye’s remaining judicial processes, in line with the Supreme Court decision to block the trial of civilians in military courts. Besigye was rushed from Luzira prison to a private clinic in Kampala, his lawyer said on Sunday. “He was not ready to meet us but he eventually agreed to meet my team of two people.
