Environmentalists call for investment in water harvesting mechanisms to prevent floods
Environmentalists are asking the government and all other stakeholders to consider collective investment in water harvesting mechanisms to help protect the population against climate-related disasters in the country. This comes at the onset of the rainy season after the Uganda National Meteorological Authority (UNMA) weather experts predicted heavy rainfall distribution that will be concentrated from September to November across the country. The UNMA warning has also prompted the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) to request the Cabinet to activate the contingency budget to prevent possible disasters.
