NRM CEC rejects proposed list of sessional committee members

By Winfred Watenya In what is seen as a significant political shake-up, President Museveni has ordered the replacement of all parliamentary committee chairpersons affiliated with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM). This is after during a meeting chaired by the President at State House Entebbe last evening, the NRM’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) unanimously resolved to appoint new members to the various sessional committees. However, the appointment of the parliamentary leadership of the ruling NRM party has been deferred for two weeks to ensure transparency.
