Mityana-Mubende highway traffic diverted over slippery conditions
The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) on Monday directed traffic along the Mityana-Mubende highway to divert from the main road at Myanzi. Govt to punish transporters inflating fares for Christmas
With Christmas just a day away, the number of passengers traveling to villages has increased significantly. This surge has led to crowded bus terminals and taxi parks across Kampala City. A mini-survey conducted by KFM revealed that transport fares for upcountry routes at most bus terminals and taxi parks in Kampala had risen by Sunday afternoon. Transport operators cited high fuel prices and the lack of return passengers as reasons for the increases. Trump says it could be worth keeping TikTok in US for a little while
By Reuters President-elect Donald Trump indicated on Sunday that he favored allowing TikTok to keep operating in the United States for at least a little while, saying he had received billions of views on the social media platform during his presidential campaign. Trump’s comments before a crowd of conservative supporters in Phoenix, Arizona, were one of the strongest signals yet that he opposes a potential exit of TikTok from the U.S. market. The U.S. Senate passed a law in April requiring TikTok’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to divest the app, citing national security concerns. TikTok’s owners have sought to have the law struck down, and the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case.
