The support was obtained by Ben Okello Luwum, the former Minister of Land and Surveys who doubles as the eldest son of the late St Janani Luwum from oversea friends. According to the Rt Rev. Wilson Kitara, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kitgum, the construction is expected to begin late this month, and by next year (2027), when the Church of Uganda will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Luwum's Martyrdom, it will be completed. He further noted that the structure will help protect the grave from stray animals and other environmental factors.
